Ahead if its E3 conference, Microsoft revealed that a new 60GB Xbox 360 Pro model is slated to replace the current one with 20GB HDD.

As reported earlier, the existing 20GB Xbox 360 Pro will be sold for $299.99 while supplies last.

Microsoft's official announcement stated that the upgraded hard drive is intended "for storing the growing wealth of digital entertainment available for the console, including music, movies, television shows, and game content"; but they failed to explain how does that fit with the availability of the hard diskless Xbox 360 Arcade SKU.

Once the 20GB model is depleted, the Xbox 360 family will consists of the $279.99 Xbox 360 Arcade which comes with a 256MB memory card and 5 Xbox 360 Arcade titles, $349.99 60GB Xbox 360 Pro, and the $449 120GB Xbox 360 Elite.
