The game that set the ball rolling in the early nineties for the
first person shooter genre was Wolfenstein 3D. People still play the
game with the same passion they played it when it was released. The
popularity meant one thing, that gamers could expect a new version of
new Wolfenstein game very soon.
As expected, a Wolfenstein game was announced for the current generation consoles and the PC. Now UK-based
Endrant Studios have sent word that they have done a co-development
partnership with Raven Software and Activision Blizzard for the
Wolfenstein game that is under development.
Ben Smedstad is the creative director & co-owner of Endrant Studios. He says,
“Our goal is to make exciting, fun and accessible games that translate
to the masses. Our backgrounds and experience enable us to be more
creative, more focused and deliver a higher quality game no matter what
the platform.”
Neil Postlethwaite, MD & co-owner of Endrant Studios stated,
“The pool of talent in the UK was the driving force behind us choosing
to set up in England. Although the incentives in other countries were
tempting, the experience and talent available in the UK is what kept us
here.”
Endrant Studios will be working mainly on the multiplayer development of the new Wolfenstein game. They will be working in conjunction with Raven. A few months ago, we had reported that a movie based on Wolfenstein could be out soon
