During publisher Activision’s press conference at the Vibiana in Los Angeles before E3 2008 started, the company mentioned the X-Men Origins: Wolverine game will be launching alongside the upcoming X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie. That puts the release date of the game on May 1, 2009.
The game will be developed by Raven Software (of X-Men Legends and
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance fame) and is expected to appear on Wii, DS,
PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360 and PC.
Here’s the plot for the second X-Men Origins: Wolverine movie (and
presumably the game too). Tread carefully if you’re weary of spoilers!
Story: “A mutant tries to piece together his memory while being hunted
by an array of powerful yet unstable characters. — Set seventeen years
before X-Men, the film will focus on Wolverine’s violent past, and his
early encounters with William Stryker. The Weapon X program and his
interactions with other mutants will be explored, including complex
relationships like Wolverine seeking revenge against Victor Creed (who
will later become Sabertooth) for the death of his girlfriend.”
