Widescreen DS Rumors Rubbished by Nintendo |

A few weeks ago, we had reported that Nintendo apparently would announce a new version of their handheld gaming console, the DS. One more rumor about a new Nintendo DS, which would be widescreen, had emerged two days ago after the Aeropause website posted a suspicious Nippon Ichi advertisement that showed a DS with a wide screen.
But it seems that gamers will not get a new widescreen Nintendo DS after all! Gaming news site Eurogamer.net is reporting that Nintendo has told them that the reports about the company unveiling a new widescreen Nintendo DS at E3 2008 are purely rumor and speculation.
Though Nintendo has rubbished the claims of the widescreen DS, there is still a minuscule possibility that a new DS could be revealed at E3 as many observers have pointed out that Nintendo usually revises its handheld hardware once every three years.
